Event Coordinator "City Wide Evangelistic Rally"

For More Information Contact Bro. Rodney Sellers

We are excited that you are planning on coordinating a "City Wide Evangelistic Rally" in your area.  The Coordinator is the key person that makes the entire event a success.  I not only have had the priviledge of working with Bro. Holmes, but have personally conducted a rally in our town.  The revival meeting is the easiest part of the event due to the fact that it is no different than bringing in any great preacher.  I have been assistant pastor at Victory Baptist Church in Baytown for about 11 years now and I know that pastor like things to go well.  This is why you need to make sure that you choose a motivated reliable person to help you with the event.  In some pastors situation he is that person, however who ever the Coordinator may be make sure you lift them up in prayer.  We had over 500 people at the rally and over 100 decision cards turned in with the corners folded that they have recieved Christ.

It is my advice that if you do not already have schools interested in Bro Holmes coming to do an assembly that your book your event at least 6 months in advance.  This will give you time to get schools on board, book a facility to host your event, and advertise the event well.

Very, Very, Very Important concerning booking schools-- You can not afford to wait.

If you are booking Bob in the Fall besure to notify the schools in the spring (start trying to book them in mid to late July)  If they will book in the spring then go for it, and likewise if you are booking Bob in the Spring start booking schools in the Fall.  Prime the pump early send out some emails and starting talking it up with parents and friends.

We ask that you stay on top of this and keep us informed, it is very hard on Bob when a Pastor cancels him at the last minute.  This is an event that can not be put together in a few weeks and it is very difficult to find someone to fill the gap.

We had many people get excited about the upcoming event after we had Bro. Holmes come and preach at our Church.  We made a big day out of it and many had the opportunity to play him after they heard him preach.  Once they saw what the event was about "Reaching the Lost" they got on board and helped tremendously.   When everyone saw the mission they got on board and helped carry the load.  The coordinator carries the biggest load, but once people begin to see the opportunity they have in helping reach the community the excite begins to grow and most everyone looks forward to the big rally.

There are a few things that I would suggest in scheduling the meeting with Bro Holmes:

  • Check the School Calendar to make sure that there are no conflicts with the date you have in mind.
  • Contact Ron Kostreba and have him send you the promo cd's for the School and Church
  • Contact Peggy Merkey (i281.859.8810 )I f you have any contract or invoice questions
  • Start contacting the schools now- Start in your immediate town and branch out, remember Bro. Holmes can do 3 schools a day.  This will be 2 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.
  • Be Sure to read our Rally Resource page, this is a key part in the success of your meeting.

If you do not already have a good contact within the schools, try contacting your local law enforcement (DARE).  There are also PTO, PTA, and many other organizations that are involved with the public schools.  You can also send out emails telling them about Bob Holmes to check the feed back.  Whether you make phone calls or send emails be sure to do a lot of follow up.  The "Gate Keepers" secretaries are not the best at getting back in touch with you.

We saw many doors open up due to God's people praying and He gave us favor with man.  We live in a day where people are excited about sports, and "The Game" gets their attention.  When the school officials see that they do not only get a speaker but an interactive program they normally get excited.  What ever you do, do not let the NO's discourage you just move on to the next school.  Once you find the right person in the school they will usually help you by contacting their friends.

I feel that all of us who schedule rallies owe it to Bro. Holmes to keep him posted on the progress of the meeting.  So many times people have cancelled at the last minute, when a simple phone call could have salvaged the meeting.

Once again we thank your for your desire to reach the lost in your area and if your Event Coordinator does not get enough information from the site do not hesitate to call Bro. Bob
